Getting Started

Dylan collage

New to library research?  Check out some of the tutorials and other resources in the box on the left to get you started.

The tabs above have research tips and tools that you can use to find books, articles and biographical information on Dylan and the writers who influenced his work. You also find information on evaluating and citing sources.

Not sure how to narrow your topic or need help with your research or library resources?  Contact your assigned librarians for help!

Getting a Library Card

Your student UMF ID + a library barcode = your library card.  Bring your student ID to the main desk (on the right as you enter the library) and ask for a barcode.  It just takes a few seconds!

You will need a barcode to:

  • borrow books,
  • access e-books available to UMF students,
  • request books from other libraries,
  • check out materials on reserve for a course (even if reserve items do not leave the library, they still have to be checked out to the person using them), and
  • use the library databases from off-campus.
