Getting a Library Card

Your student UMF ID + a library barcode = your library card.  Bring your student ID to the main desk (on the right as you enter the library) and ask for a barcode.  It just takes a few seconds!

You will need a barcode to:

  • borrow books,
  • access e-books available to UMF students,
  • request books from other libraries,
  • check out materials on reserve for a course (even if reserve items do not leave the library, they still have to be checked out to the person using them), and
  • use the library databases from off-campus.

Children's Literature Research

As an eductor, you will need to be able to find good literature for children by genre, format, reading level, or grade level. This guide is intended as an introduction to some of the methods for locating children's book and recommended tools for finding reviews and evaluting books.

If you have questions about finding children's literature for your assignment or using library resources, please contact one of the EDU 388 librarians. We are happy to assist you!
