These guides cover the basics of using library resources and doing research.

Introduction

This guide was designed to help you develop some of the skills required for literary research, including locating secondary sources, finding biographical information about authors, and using book reviews to assess the usefulness of a particular biographical source.

If you're not sure how to proceed, or if you would like help with a specific research question, please contact one of the subject librarians listed on the right of this guide.

Project Worksheet

After reviewing the information on the course guide, you should be able to complete this worksheet using the MLA International Bibliography online, Academic Search Premier, and URSUS/MaineCat.  If you have questions or problems, please ask a librarian for help.
