Getting Started

New to library research?  Check out some of the tutorials and other resources in the box on the left to get you started.

Are you familiar with using the resources available in the library, but would like to know which ones are best for researching topics relating to the history of Mexico? Click on the tabs above for more information.

Not sure how to narrow your topic or need help using the library resources?  Contact one of the HTY Librarians for help!

Getting a Library Card

Your student UMF ID + a library barcode = your library card.  Bring your student ID to the main desk (on the right as you enter the library) and ask for a barcode.  It just takes a few seconds!

You will need a barcode to:

  • borrow books,
  • access e-books available to UMF students,
  • request books from other libraries,
  • check out materials on reserve for a course (even if reserve items do not leave the library, they still have to be checked out to the person using them), and
  • use the library databases from off-campus.
