Health Promotion Planning Research

This guide is designed to get you started researching program planning in the field of health, including how to research education strategies, assess health programs, and find resources that will help you as a health professional promote and advocate for health education.

The guide includes finding scholarly research, evaluating information, and citing sources in APA format. It also includes tips using the library's online health databases effectively and recommended health education resources.

If you have questions about your research or using library resources, please contact your HEA 411 librarian!

Getting a Library Card

Your student UMF ID + a library barcode = your library card.  Bring your student ID to the main desk (on the right as you enter the library) and ask for a barcode.  It just takes a few seconds!

You will need a barcode to:

  • borrow books,
  • access e-books available to UMF students,
  • request books from other libraries,
  • check out materials on reserve for a course (even if reserve items do not leave the library, they still have to be checked out to the person using them), and
  • use the library databases from off-campus.
